Moyer

Jamie Moyer started his career in 1986, and pitched through the 2012 season. It’s amazing that a guy can hang on for twenty-five years in today’s game. His first game was a victory for the Cubs against the Philadelphia Phillies and one of the greatest left-handed pitchers of all-time, Steve Carlton. In his last appearance he lost for the Rockies against the Reds and Mat Latos. He gave up four home runs in that game, one each to Brandon Phillips, Joey Votto, Jay Bruce, and Todd Frazier.

TWJ contributor Patrick used the 2004 Topps design to commemorate Moyer throwing out the first pitch for the Seattle Mariners, who he played for from 1996-2006.
